4.2 Step 2 – Project Preparation
Three aspects of work are required for project preparation: the right people,
funding and technical specifications and construction programme that sets out
a framework for the project.
4.2.1 Select Project Team Members
Professionals and contractors can
be found in the Appendices provided
in this Guide. An invitation for tender
based on the client brief can be
sent to designated professionals or
contractors. Following the tender
submission, interested parties
can be shortlisted based on their
qualifications, proposed costs and
project experience.

4.2.2 Sources of Funding
While some schools have embraced
the concept of building green and
energy efficient school buildings, a
major challenge is the availability of
financial support. Cost is considered
as one of the major barriers to
schools adopting green features.
There are a number of funding sources for green projects available to schools in
Hong Kong. A list of organisations that offer funding is provided in Appendix C.
