Siu Sai Wan Complex
小西灣綜合大樓
The panel of jury found the design of Siu Sai Wan Complex to
have addressed the complex programme and site condition with
sensitive design for energy conservation and the promotion of
a pleasant environment. This is highlighted by the insertion of a
common area that is served with through ventilation aligned with
the prevalent wind direction, taking into account the building gap
in adjoining sites. The jurors were impressed by how this light
and airy atrium has been become a lively activity hub which also
connects to all facilities in the Complex. In addition, the design
of sunshading device also helps to create a focal point and to
give identity to the complex.The greening of the building with the
green roof and the strip of trees planted at the entrance to the
building successfully mediated the interior of the building with
the environment. While many other ‘green’ features used in the
building are conventional, the efforts of the design team to blend
resource and energy conservation with an elegant building
design are appreciated.
評審團認為,小西灣綜合大樓憑藉務實的能源節約設
計,以及提升整體環境的理念,全面解決座落地點所導
致的複雜問題。大樓內設有根據主流風向而建的公共空
間,連接兩座主樓。這個光線充足及空氣流通的公共空
間,現已成為大眾的主要活動範圍以及接駁至不同大樓
設施的主要通道,評審團對此心感讚歎。此外,大樓的
遮光設施更成為大樓聚焦點及特徵。大樓的綠化屋頂及
大樓入口的園林設計,讓大樓能完全融入週邊環境,成
為一體。大樓眾多綠化設施跟隨主流發展,然而設計團
隊如何把節約資源及能源的理念貫徹於整幢典雅大樓設
計的努力,足以讓人敬佩。

Though the building form, façade construction, outlook and
orientation are limited by the whole development master
planning, the panel of jury is impressed by the harmonious
adaptation of the “State of the Art” sustainable and green
technologies in the overall design. With the thoughtful blending
of building interactive systems, renewable energy generators,
building management system, the building design proves its
value in demonstrating and promoting the application of “green”
technologies.
儘管建築模式、外圍施工、外型及座向均受制於整個區域
的規劃,評審團仍對項目把最新可持續發展及環保建築技
術運用得淋漓盡致而感安慰。有賴完備的大廈互動系統、
再生能源發電機及大廈管理系統,項目的設計能充分反映
及推廣應用環保科技所能帶來的優勢及價值。

With the design concept of “heaven-sky-earth”, the Hong Kong
Design Institute & HKIVE Lee Wai Lee Campus raises the main
bulk of the buildings up to the “sky” level (above 7/F) leaving
ample open space at the “earth” level (at G/F and podium). The
open space below the 7/F level does not only provide large
areas for landscaping and as a place of public assembly for the
community, but also ventilation and viewing corridors connecting
the seaside of Junk Bay with the building developments behind
the Campus. This enables the Campus buildings to harmonize
well with its neighbourhood creating a sustainable built
environment.
香港知專設計學院及香港專業教育學院李惠利分校的設
計,採用了「天空與地面(Heaven-sky-earth)」的概念,
把建築物主要體積的部分提升至「天空」水平(7樓以上的
位置),為建築物「地面」水平的部分(地面至平台的位置)
留下充足的開敞空間。在7樓以下的開敞空間,不但能提
供大面積的園景設計和公眾綜合活動場地,更能把將軍澳
的海濱地帶與校舍後面的樓宇連接起來,兼作通風用途及
觀景廊,使校舍的建築與毗鄰環境得以融和一起,創建可
持續發展的建築環境。

In a supposed to be standardized and sample designed school
project, you will appreciate the effective building passive design
and creative use of green features. Quality study environment
has been created by good utilization of natural daylight and
wind. The use of semi transparent amorphous PV at the
external wall acts as sun shading device, energy generator as
well as architectural feature. The school has demonstrated her
every effort to try, implement and support green environment,
and offers the public and our next generation a great green
educational platform.
在設計平實及規範化的標準式學園內,欣然體驗有效建築
布局及具靈活創意的環保設計。通過自然景觀、通風及光
線,創造了舒適學習環境;附設在課室外牆之太陽能板既
能產生綠色能源、又能遮擋猛烈陽光,更為校園外觀加添
環保氣息。校方對綠色建築的多方面嘗試、實踐及支持,
為我們的下一代及市民帶來良好榜樣及教育平台。
