GBA 2012
Organising Committee
It is most honoured to be the Chairman of the Organising Committee
for Green Building Award 2012. It is my second time to serve as
OC Chairman for the GBA. After the great success of the first
GBA initiated by PGBC in 2006, PGBC determined to develop this
biennale award into a widely recognised and prominent event to
give recognition to building projects of outstanding performance and
contributions towards environmental sustainability. When I chaired
theGBA2008, therewere over 100 nomination submissions including
the recognition to all projects in Hong Kong and beyond given that
Hong Kong professionals were involved. With the establishment of
HKGBC in 2009, the GBA 2010 was co-organised by both HKGBC
and PGBC. This year, as the reigning Chairman of PGBC and also
a director of HKGBC, I have great pleasure to take up the task of
OC Chairman of GBA 2012 and am pleased to see that GBA 2012
has received overwhelming response of nominations with a total
of 13 entries from 11 cities in the Asia Pacific region. Standard of
the nominated projects are exceedingly high. From the 63 finalists,
7 grand awards and 24 merits have been conferred. I sincerely
congratulate the winners and finalists on their success.
The winning teams will have the opportunity to present their projects
at the Green Building Conference 2012 on 11 June, 2012to share
their invaluable experience.
WearehonouredtohaveMrs.CarrieLAM,SecretaryforDevelopment,
to be Honourable Advisors of the event, and Guests of Honour at the
conference as well as the award presentation ceremony. The strong
support from the HKSAR Government is extremely encouraging to
the green building movement in Hong Kong.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to members of the Jury
Panel for contributing their valuable time and efforts in the judging
process. My heartiest thanks go to our sponsors for their generous
financial support, without which this meaningful event would not
be possible. I also thank the supporting organisations for their
endorsement of the event. In addition, I have to thank the council
and my vice-chairmen of PGBC, Ir Victor CHEUNG who leading the
OC for the Award, whilst Mr. Franky CHOI for the conference.
I hope that this event will motivate wider participation from the
community and the industry in the green building movement,
and inspire innovation in the creation of a more sustainable `built
environment. In closing, I would like to thank members of the
organising committee for their dedicated efforts in the past few
months
本人深感榮幸，能在2012年度環保建築大獎籌委會，再次擔任主
席。自從2006年成功舉辦首屆環保建築大獎後，環保建築專業議
會(PGBC) ，決定把這兩年一度的頒獎禮，發展成一個給予在環保
方面有傑出表現及貢獻的建築項目的肯定，並廣受認同的盛事。
在我擔任籌委會主席的2008年環保建築大獎，有超過100個香港
本地項目，或有香港專業人員參予的項目獲得提名。2010年綠
色建築頒獎禮，更由在2009年成立之香港綠色建築議會(HKGBC)
與環保建築專業議會(PGBC) 共同主辦。今年 ，我作為環保建築
專業議會(PGBC) 的現任主席及香港綠色建築議會(HKGBC) 的董
事，非常榮幸去履行2012年環保建築大獎籌委會主席的工作，並
很高興見到非常熱烈的提名，在亞太地區13個城市共有11個參選
項目。在63個決賽入圍項目中，其中有7個獲得大獎，及24個獲
得優異獎。我衷心的祝賀各得獎者及決賽入圍者的成就。各得獎
團隊將有機會，在2012年6月11日舉行的2012年綠色建築研討
會中，分享他們寶貴的經驗。
我們非常榮幸邀得現任發展局局長，林鄭月娥女士，作為頒獎禮
的榮譽顧問，和研討會及頒獎晚宴的榮譽嘉賓。香港特區政府的
強力支持，是推動香港綠色建築發展的一大動力。
我衷心感謝評審委員會的成員，在評審過程中付出他們寶貴的時
間及努力。也多謝各位贊助單位，沒有他們的慷慨贊助，這個具
意義的頒獎禮也未能取得完滿成功；亦要多謝各協辦團體對本頒
獎禮的支持。此外 ，我更要多謝籌委會，及領導籌備小組的環保
建築專業議會副主席張志剛先生，和安排研討會的蔡錦龍先生。
我希望此頒獎禮能夠鼓勵社會及業內人士更多參予及推動綠色建
築，和激勵創建可持續發展的建築環境。在此 ，我以多謝各籌委
會委員在過去數月付出的熱誠努力作為完結。
