My warm congratulations to the Hong Kong Green Building

Council and the Professional Green Building Council on

successfully launching the Green Building Award 2016!

Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated cities in

the world. We have to utilise our scarce land resources in

an optimal and sustainable manner to satisfy the diverse

needs of a vibrant and thriving society. Driven by the vision

to provide a better living environment for our citizens, the

Government and the Hong Kong Housing Authority have

been actively exploring new and innovative ways towards

housing and related developments and rolling out continuous

improvement in various aspects without compromising the

long-term sustainability of our environment.

The Green Building Award has been instrumental in

promoting green and sustainable practices among the

stakeholders in building industry. Over the years, it has

encouraged and promulgated innovative ways for taking

forward building development, environmental protection

and socio-economic development alongside each other

harmoniously to create a sustainable and livable Hong

Kong.

I wish the Award ceremony a great success and congratulate

all winners and nominees on their excellent performance.

我衷心祝賀香港綠色建築議會和環保建築專業議會成功合辦

環保建築大獎 2016。

香港位列全球人口最密集的城市之一，因此我們須善用珍貴

的土地資源，去滿足繁榮都市的多元需求。在為市民提供宜

居環境的願景下，特區政府及香港房屋委員會在推動房屋與

相關發展項目時，積極探討各種優化及創新方法，務求維持

社會的長遠可持續發展。

環保建築大獎在建築行業持份者中推廣環保及可持續發展措

施。多年來，環保建築大獎促進房屋建設、環境保護和社會

經濟三方面和諧發展，以締造一個可持續和宜居的香港，實

在貢獻良多。

我恭賀各得獎和獲提名的機構，並祝賀環保建築大獎舉辦

成功。
