Green Building Award 2016

My heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the Green

Building Award 2016 and appreciation of the laudable

endeavours and contributions of all participants to the green

building movement.

Time flies, it is now a decade since the establishment of the

Award. Thanks to the joint efforts of the Hong Kong Green

Building Council (HKGBC) and the Professional Green

Building Council (PGBC), the Award provides honoured

recognition for the industry stakeholders who strive for

establishing a sustainable built environment in Hong Kong.

Looking ahead, climate change will remain the major

global challenge of this century. Sustained efforts of the

industry in pursuing the green building movement are

pivotal to a robust response. The Government is committed

to developing Hong Kong into a green community with

low-carbon lifestyle. We will continue to lead by example

in promoting greener government buildings and also

encourage greater participation by the general public in

accomplishing energy efficiency for the private building

stock. With the perseverance of both HKGBC and PGBC,

I look forward to seeing more collaborative initiatives of

fostering a sustainable built environment in Hong Kong.

May I wish the two organisations every success in their

endeavours in the years to come.

我衷心祝賀環保建築大獎 2016 的得獎者，並感謝各參與者

對綠色建築運動所作出的努力和貢獻。

時光荏苒，環保建築大獎成立至今已經是第十個年頭。在香

港綠色建築議會和環保建築專業議會的共同努力下，該獎項

對於在過去多年致力建立香港可持續建築環境的業界持份者，

作出了尊崇的肯定。

展望未來，氣候變化將會繼續是本世紀全球面對最大的挑戰。

應對挑戰的切實回應，就是業界在推動綠色建築運動上的堅

持和努力。政府已承諾把香港發展成為一個實踐低碳生活模

式的綠色社區。我們將繼續以身作則，在政府樓宇推行「更

綠」的建築，並鼓勵市民大眾，加強現存私人樓宇的能源效

益。在香港綠色建築議會和環保建築專業議會的努力不懈下，

我期待看到各界有更多的協作，共同營造可持續建築環境。

我祝願兩個議會在來年的成就，更上一層樓。
