In the conference, Mrs Carrie Lam, the Secretary for Development, made a presentation in a special forum on Urban Development, which was co-organised by iiSBE (International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment) and UNEPSBCI (United Nations Environmental Programme – Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative).

Besides introducing the HKGBC, the exhibition and publication highlighted the latest green building development in Hong Kong with respect to policy, project, research and education. A technical tour was also arranged for the Hong Kong delegation to visit some green developments in Helsinki during the conference period.

The HKGBC had formed an Organising Committee to facilitate this major event, and two taskforces were set up to oversee the Hong Kong Exhibition Booth at the conference and to steer the editorial of the Hong Kong Report on the State of Sustainable Building 2011 respectively.

The next World Sustainable Building Conference, SB14, would be held in Barcelona, Spain in October 2014.
