EMSD's Solar Energy Support Scheme - Harvest Solar

14 Mar 2019

The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) of HKSAR recently launched the "Solar Harvest - Solar Energy Support Scheme for Schools and Welfare Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs)" with the aim of driving the development of local renewable energy. It provides subsidy and one-stop service to help eligible schools and welfare NGOs to install small-scale solar PV systems at their premises. All the expenses in relation to the solar PV installation and FiT application (including capital costs of the solar PV systems, installation costs and costs of professional services, etc.) will be fully covered by the Government under the Scheme. The Programme will also facilitate the schools and welfare NGOs to apply and join the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) Scheme.

The scheme is now open for applications and the closing date for the first batch is 4 April 2019 (Thursday).
