• The following measures can be implemented in new school developments or
existing schools to improve lighting quality:
- - Rearrange / increase number of lighting fixtures to improve illuminance
and illuminance uniformity;
- - Delamp to decrease illuminance if over lit (e.g. > 700 lux);
- - Select lighting fixture with diffuser which can reduce glare;
- - Select light / lamp with high CRI (i.e. >80);
- - Follow the general recommendations in Useful References (1) & (2) for
design and configuration; and
- - Consult Registered Professional Engineer (RPE) in Building Services
Discipline and BEAM Professional for detailed design and option.
