2.2 Behavioural Changes and Monitoring of Energy
and Water
With the energy and water meters introduced in the latter section of this Guide,
students are encouraged to record the energy and water usage regularly either
reading it from the bills or meters for comparison with previous readings and
look for ways to reduce their consumption.
When the reduction of energy and/or water can actually be recorded, students
are more likely to turn behavioural changes learnt from the school into a habit
(such as turning light after use or turning on fan instead of air conditioning) and
practise them at home and other places.
