Message from Chairman of Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) –

香港綠色建築議會主席賀辭 – 黃天祥工程師太平紳士
香港綠色建築議會的使命，是推動整個建築物生命周期中追
求優質及可持續發展，並以此本，為業界樹立卓越典範。議
會在履行使命的同時，深受業內人士的激勵、鼓舞和專心致
力的支持，尤其是次與環保建築專業議會合辦的大奬，更能
見證各方投入的貢獻和參與。
我們殷切希望，環保建築大奬2012在專業綠建人士及香港全
體業界持份者之間，創造出一個共同願景，激發起他們對綠
色建築運動的熱誠。與此同時，通過舉辦大奬，不單讓本港
及亞太區的業界人士，還有普羅大眾對綠色建築現時的卓越
成就加深認知，從而在他們的生活方式中深化綠色建築概念
及價值，得以引發社會整體的行為變革。
我們倡導香港以營造出可持續發展的高密度且宜居的城市環
境為目標，於環球城市中佔一領先席位，並期望可於2016年
成為華南地區可持續建築環境的典範。我們決意成為帶領香
港綠色建築運動的「主幹」，旨在2016成為華南區宣揚可持
續建築環境的領導機構。
香港綠色建築議會將透過帶領發展綠色建築的業界標準、最
佳作業守則、教育及研究，擔當本港可持續建築環境的市場
改革先鋒。期望將來於同類型的活動上，獲得業界及普羅大
眾更鼎力的支持及參與。
In pursuit of our mission to aspire for quality and sustainability
at every stage of the building life cycle and to embrace these
principles as a mark of excellence, the Hong Kong Green Building
Council has been truly encouraged and heartened by the vigour
and dedication of the industry stakeholders in giving their support
to this event which has been organised with the Professional
Green Building Council.
It is hoped that the Green Building Award 2012 has created a
common vision among green building professionals and the
whole body of industry stakeholders in Hong Kong and ignited
their passion for the green building movement. At the same
time, through these awards, gain wider recognition not only from
our industry stakeholders in Hong Kong and in the Asia Pacific
Region, but also from the general public regarding the current
status of achievement of excellence in green buildings, but also
the need to embrace the green building concepts and values
in their life style, and as a result inducing societal behavioural
changes.
We advocate that Hong Kong should aspire to be one of the
leading world cities in achieving a sustainable high density, high
livability urban environment, and be an exemplar of high quality
sustainable built environment in South China Region by 2016
and we aspire to be the ‘Principal Voice’ in leading green building
movement in Hong Kong and the leading body in promoting
sustainable built environment in South China Region by 2016.
The Hong Kong Green Building Council shall play a leading role
in the market transformation to a sustainable built environment
in Hong Kong by guiding the development of industry standards,
best practices, education and research in green buildings. We
shall continue to look forward to ever more vigorous endeavours
and support from the industry and the public in the organisation
of similar events in the future.
