Key Points
• Ensure that the quality of potable
water delivered to school users is
satisfactory;
• Promote proactive approach to
monitor the quality of potable

as the quality of water drawn from

be affected by the condition of
the inside plumbing, such as
the phenomenon of discoloured
water due to the presence of iron
from rusty pipes;
• Sampling should be taken at the farthest point(s) of use in the water
distribution system from the water storage tank or the water supply point; and
• The cost for water sampling as per Quality Water Recognition Scheme for
Buildings by Water Supplies Department is around $500 to $700 per sample.
