Joint Working Group
Construction and demolition (C&D) waste has been a worldwide environmental and social issue, as it contributes to 30% of the waste generated around the globe. It shall be reduced, reused and recycled by policies, incentives and industry best practices. In order to identify the right policies and incentives to reduce C&D waste and to share experiences and industry best practices, Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) and the Business Environment Council (BEC) has formed a joint working group with the objective to gather views from industry stakeholders and to draw consensus for the targets and recommendations on the reduction of C&D waste.
