Other Ways

Lighting

  • Compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) is more energy efficient than incandescent light bulb by 70% to 80%. The energy efficacies of T8 and T5 fluorescent tubes are 10% to 30% more than that of T12 or T10 fluorescent tubes.
  • Install lighting zone control wherever possible to turn lighting off in unoccupied common area.
  • Parabolic-type lighting reflectors can reflect sufficient light with fewer fluorescent tubes.
  • Make use of daylight whenever possible.

Air-conditioning

  • Replace ageing Heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment with new energy-efficient equipment such as with "Grade 1 or Grade2 Energy Label".
  • Install more temperature control panels in an area, users can switch air-conditioning on and off in areas that are used infrequently.
  • During cool seasons, if outside conditions are suitable, try to open windows instead of turning on the air-conditioners.
  • To maintain cooling efficiency, regularly clean the condenser tubes, cooling coils and air filters.
  • Set room temperatures to the standard optimum temperature: 25.5 °C.
  • Switch off whenever unoccupied.
  • Install outdoor shading devices or add reflective film to reduce solar heat.
  • Choose the most suitable HP model for different areas.
