Hong Kong Green Building Week 2014 - Green Building Ideas Pitch: Final Pitching Event (6 Sep)
After two months of effort, our six green entrepreneur teams pitched their final business plans in the Final Pitching Event of the Hong Kong Green Building Week 2014's Green Building Ideas Pitch Programme on 6 September. The teams handled some tough questions from the panel of judges that comprised of Ir Conrad Wong Tin-cheung, Chairman of the HKGBC; Ms Ada Wong, Convenor and Director of Good Lab; Mr Charles Ng, Associate Director - General of InvestHK; Mrs Patricia Lau, Managing Director of Youth.gov.hk; and Mr Patrick Cheung, Founding Partner of Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund. After two hours of intense competition, the judges selected Wood Lab as the champion.
The champion Wood Lab proposed upcycling recycled construction wood waste to cat litter. We also selected first runner-up and second runner-up teams. The first runner-up team, LED Lighting Solution, proposed controlling LED lighting system by applying artificial intelligence to learn user pattern and environmental condition (e.g. daylight intensity). The second runner-up team, Home Aquaphonics, proposed introducing “Aquaphonics” product and related green education to Hong Kong families. The whole programme truly demonstrated how cross-sector social innovation can help improve our society.
