2013-14, more than 80,000 participants and
110,000 residents joined the promotional and
waste recycling programmes organised by
43 partner organisations, which were mainly
NGOs. The theme for the 2014-15 programme
is ’Community Waste Less Action: Waste
Not, Re-Use More, Recycle Wise‘.
The EPD and ECC conduct the World
Environment Day (WED) Programme on 5
June every year. The local theme for the 2014
WED programme was ‘Eat Wise, Waste Less’.
Under this programmme, guests and celebrity
chefs shared their experiences on food waste
reduction and green recipes. SEPAs also
helped to publicise WED and other Hong
Kong environmental initiatives during a series
of publicity events and roving exhibitions in
public places and shopping malls.
