“HK3030 Campaign”
– A Vision for A Low Carbon Sustainable Built Environment
in Hong Kong by 2030
As an industry-based overarching body promoting green buildings in Hong Kong, HKGBC is keen to collaborate with key industry stakeholders and the Hong Kong SAR Government in putting forward strategies to accelerate the market transformation to a sustainable built environment. Following to the consultation paper of Council Sustainable Development, HKGBC is going to present a paper to put forth a proposed roadmap towards a low carbon city by setting an achievable target on the demand side management of electricity consumption to reduce 30% of the absolute amount of the electricity used in buildings in 2030 as compared to 2005 level, i.e. HK3030 Campaign.
HKGBC would like to propose an aggressive but achievable target via this HK3030 Campaign. Therefore, a series of stakeholder engagement exercise will be held to collect different views to bring great benefits to the society and to create a better Hong Kong for our future generations to live.
The engagement with industry stakeholders is crucial to the success of this citywide electricity saving campaign. As important members of HKGBC, your participation in this seminar will be a great asset to HKGBC in refining our proposal to the Government to foster a more sustainable built environment of Hong Kong.
HKGBC Chairman, Ir Conrad Wong, JP will be introducing the "HK3030 Campaign" to all our members.
