The Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) will organise an education seminar on the HK3030 Campaign and energy efficient school projects for the school community.

Energy saving and carbon emission reduction have been the hot topics in the environmental conservation. In fact, an increasing number of schools are also integrating energy efficient installations at their buildings to create sustainable learning environments for the students, as well as promoting green education. During the seminar, HKGBC will introduce the importance of energy consumption reduction of school buildings, and invite the school representatives to share their past experience and challenges encountered during the implementation of energy efficient school projects and relevant educational activities, so as to develop a series of useful guidelines and educational activities for building a sustainable and quality environment for our community and children.

HKGBC recently launched the HK3030 Campaign which puts forth a roadmap to reduce the absolute electricity consumption of buildings in Hong Kong by the year 2030 referencing the 2005 baseline. Through advocating the expansion of the scope of regulatory control, incentives and public education programmes, the HK3030 Campaign aims to enhance the energy efficiency of the buildings and shape the behaviours of the inhabitants towards a sustainable lifestyle.
