Ecological education will be provided via
the Butterfly Reserve, a natural habitat
that will be open only by appointment; the
Green Pad, a designated space for tenants’
organic gardening; and the Delonix Garden of
seasonal flowering trees, which will surround
the thermal storage system.
Hong Kong Science Park Phase 3 is an
important development in the region’s
sustainable building marketplace. Going
beyond the mere adoption of green features,
Phase 3 creates a new way of working for
Grade A commercial building occupants,
from the provision of operable windows, to
the sharing of tenants’ energy data via the
Green Lease. What further sets Phase 3 aside
from many others is its ‘Living Laboratory’
showcase, providing an unparalleled
opportunity for professionals, students and
members of the public to see for themselves
the next generation of sustainable building in
hot and humid subtropical environments.
