HK3030 CAMPAIGN
HK3030 is the HKGBC’s flagship campaign.
It sets forth a vision for a low-carbon and
sustainable built environment in Hong Kong
by 2030. At its heart, the campaign offers a
long-term roadmap to reduce the absolute
electricity consumption of buildings in Hong
Kong by 30 percent of 2005 level by the year
2030.
This ambitious campaign naturally requires
widespread industry and community support.
The HKGBC has adopted a carrot-and-stick
approach to addressing the campaign’s three
strategic pillars, namely new buildings,
existing buildings and public awareness. To
date, a total of 25 recommendations have
been put forward to achieve the HK3030
target. Through continued participation from
the Government, industry players and the
general public, HK3030 is not only achievable,
it provides a solid foundation for a greener
and more sustainable Hong Kong.
