Benchmark Figures and Analysis
In order to adopt Carbon Emission Evaluation as a design tool, we
need to establish benchmark figures for design verification purpose.
New Harmony One (NH1) Block was the latest standard block built
by the Hong Kong Housing Authority(HKHA). Though the HKHA
now adopts modular flat design approach to build up site specific
blocks for individual projects, the design of most site specific blocks
is comparable to NH1 Block in terms of building materials used and
building services system design. Therefore, we adopt the carbon
emission figures of our 41-storey NH1 Block as the benchmark figure
for domestic block. In addition, the carbon emission figures for our
new public housing development in Kai Tak Site Area 1A is employed
as the estate benchmark figures of a new development in Sheung
Shui and verified its results with the benchmark figures.
The carbon emissions under Aspects II(building structure) and
III(communal BS installations) are critically dominant in all cases.
Moreover, with the contribution from the optimization of building
services systems and a grid-connected PV system on roof top, the
CO2 emission per flat and CO2 emission per GFA in Sheung SHui
project are verified to be well within the benchmark figures.The CEE
methodology thus provides the designers and the management an
effective design verification tool to gauge the holistic carbon emission
of the buildings.
基準數字和分析
為了採取碳排放量估算作為設計工具,我們需要以設計驗證
為目的建立基準數。新和諧1型是房委會標準式設計的公營
住宅大廈之一。雖然香港房屋委員會目前在某些個別公營房
屋發展專案採用模數化的方法取代標準式大廈設計, 然而
大部分公營房屋設計採用的建築材料和建築服務系統是跟新
和諧1型相媲美的。因此,我們採取41層的和諧1型碳排
放資料作為我們的基準數位。此外,我們新開發的位於啟德
機場地區1A的屋邨碳排放數位也作為公營社區碳排放的基
準數位。我們已經在新開發的上水36西區專案中提出了碳
排放數字的問題,並且已經用基準數字驗證了它的結果。 
第二條(建築結構)和第三條(公共建築設施)的碳排放量
在所有的案例中嚴格加以控。並且,通過優化建築服務設施
系統,以及在屋頂採用光伏並網發電系統,上水專案中每單
位和每樓面面積的二氧化碳排放量,己經被驗證於準數之
內。因此,碳排放量估算的方法為設計師和管理者提供了有
效的設計驗證工具,來衡量建築物的整體碳排放。
