It was important to make the space reflect the Coca-Cola
International brand, their CSR Live Positively program and be a
healthy and engaging office. The space consists of lobby and
corridor that opens onto a terrace and connects all the department
“neighborhoods”. The Living Positively platform and manufacturing
process can be seen reflected in the rooms and curved conveyer
belt elements in the space. The L+ Corridor links all of the employee
and visitor spaces and highlights the story being told of the inescapable
message of how important it is to “Work and Live Positively”.
- Potable water use reduction of 82%: Pipes were installed to
reuse on-site treated water for 100% of the flush toilet, urinals
and landscaping areas. All fixtures and faucets were installed
low flow and low flush.
- Daylighting: Sun tubes were cut into the roof to bring natural
daylight into the core spaces. All seated occupants have direct
view to natural daylight.
- Salvage Materials Use: Existing bricks, floor and ceiling tiles
were identified for salvage and reuse. Ten year old yelowing
metal ceiling tiles were removed, repainted in tones of sky blue,
and reinstalled in the all public and common areas. The refurbished
ceiling became a design feature and talking point regarding thought,
actions and sustainability.
