Hong Kong's
Green Building
Development

Established in 2009, the Hong Kong Green FOUNDING MEMBERS:
Building Council (HKGBC) is a non-profit,
member-led organisation that strives to
promote the standards and development
of sustainable buildings in Hong Kong. Its
Founding Members are the Construction
Industry Council (CIC), Business Environment
Council (BEC), BEAM Society Limited (BSL)
and the Professional Green Building Council
(PGBC).

Through engaging the public, the construction
industry and the government, the HKGBC
aims to raise awareness of green buildings
while also developing practical solutions
that address Hong Kong’s unique, subtropical
built environment of high-rise, high-density
urban areas. In all its activities, the HKGBC is
guided by its Vision and Mission Statement to
make Hong Kong a global exemplar of green
building development.
