Grand Central Plaza initiates the objective of “Excellence in Green
Sustainability & Companion in Community Education”. We combine
elements of “Reduction, Collection, Reproduction, Reuse, Education
& Step Out of Community” and integrate environmental protection and
social enterprises to promote environmental concepts.
To achieve the goal of energy-saving and waste reduction, Grand
Central Plaza not only carried out the chiller plants refurbishment work
and successfully saved power consumption, but also instantaneously
separated construction waste for recycling so as to alleviate the pressure
of landfill. Besides, “Green Education Center” was set up for organising
green events in community, conducting special projects on ecology
periodically while “Aquaponics System” and “Butterfly Garden” were
created so as to promote the importance of biodiversity and habitat
conservation.
新城市中央廣場推行「綠色持續卓越，社區教育同行」，訂立「減廢、回
收、再造、循環、教育、衝出社區」六大元素，將環保與社企精神融為一
體，將環保理念推而廣之。在節能及減廢方面，除透過優化冷凍機組工程，
以節省用電外，更將工程廢料即時分類，循環再用，減少堆填區的壓力。
此外，亦設立「環保教育中心」，以舉辦環保及社區活動、定期進行生態專
題研習、同時亦增設「魚菜共生系統」及「蝴蝶園」，借以推廣生物多樣性
及保育的重要性。
