1. Policy

BEC’s top management:

i) formulated vision and mission which embrace sustainability to make

Hong Kong a low carbon city;

ii) made a set of action-oriented commitments; and

iii) committed to disclose environmental performance regularly.

2. Goals and Planning

BEC has devised a strategic plan with short and long-term overarching

goals:

i) Be a showcase centre for the business case on sustainability

solutions;

• BEC has transformed its headquarters into an energy efficient

building as a model for emulation to existing building owners.

ii) Become a pre-eminent centre of excellence on sustainability in Hong

Kong;

• To turn its headquarters into a “green hub” by organising various

environmental related activities; and

• BEC is working with its tenants to implement green lease. A

taskforce comprising BEC’s senior management and tenant

representatives is established to set environmental targets and

explore possible incentives.

3. Industry Leadership

i) BEC headquarters is the first commercial building to achieve

provisional Platinum Rating of BEAM Plus Assessment for Existing

Building;

ii) BEC is one of the few non-profit organisations in Hong Kong to

publish sustainability report in accordance with GRI G4 guideline

and NGO Sector Supplement;

iii) Established Advisory Groups to advocate green building related

policies and share best practices; and

iv) Submit views to CE policy address and actively respond to

Government’s consultation papers.

4. Knowledge Sharing

i) Set up Green Office Team to promote sustainability to our staff

through our green initiatives and activities;

ii) Collaborate with other NGOs and professional institutions both locally

and internationally to organise seminars / workshops on energy

efficiency and CSR;

iii) Organise training courses and events such as EnviroSeries

Conference, seminars and industry visits on green building topics; and

iv) Published reports and handbooks to promote best practices for

sustainable built environment.

商界環保協會高級管理層:

i) 訂立使命及願景,支持可持續發展,構建香港成為低碳城市;

ii) 作出行動承諾;以及

iii) 承諾定期彙報環境方面的表現。

2. 目標與計劃

商界環保協會制定策略性計劃,訂立短期及長期的總體目標:

i) 作為商業案例的示範,展示可持續發展方案;

商界環保協會提升其總部大樓成為節能建築物,在業界樹立典範。

ii) 成為可持續發展卓越的中心;

舉辦各項環保相關活動,打造總部大樓成為一個「環保中心」

商界環保協會正與其租戶商討實行綠色租賃,其高級管理人員及租

戶代表組成工作小組,共同設定環保目標及商討可行的獎勵方法。

3. 行業領導

i) 商界環保協會總部是首幢獲得綠建環評暫定鉑金級認證的既有建築物;

ii) 商界環保協會採用《全球報告倡議組織(GRI)》G4 的披露框架,並

參考 GRI 的非政府組織行業補充指引,以編制可持續發展報告。商界

環保協會為香港少數披露資料至該等程度的非牟利機構;

iii) 成立咨詢小組,倡議綠色建築相關政策,並與商界分享最佳實踐;以

iv) 就行政長官的施政報告提交意見,並積極地回應政府的咨詢文件。

4. 知識分享

i) 成立綠色辦公室小組,透過各項環保行動及活動向員工宣揚可持續發

展。

ii) 與其他本地及國際的非政府組織和專業機構合作,舉辦有關節能及企

業社會責任的講座或工作坊;

iii) 舉辦以綠色建築為題的培訓課程及活動,包括環保領袖論壇,講座及

參觀活動;以及

iv) 撰寫及出版報告和指引,推動可持續建築環境的最佳實踐。
