Grand Central Plaza which locates in Sha Tin consists of a home
furnishing mall, two Grade A office buildings, a podium garden and
a carpark. Acting in consistence with the green policy of Kai Shing
Management Services Limited, GCP management team is devoted
to reducing greenhouse gases emission through fusing green
practices with its daily management and striving continually, with the
concerted efforts by various parties within the community, to review
and renew its management practices for improved sustainability.
Sustainability-oriented Facility Improvement
• Setting a pumping system to draw out underground water for
irrigation and floor cleaning so that potable water consumption can
be minimized.
• Extensive Programme for Chiller Plant Upgrading Work to replace
air-cooled chillers with water-cooled ones utilizing eco-friendly
refrigerant. Energy efficiency is largely improved.What’s more is to
abandon the environment-harmful refrigerant.
• The podium Garden of 1,000sq. m. not only does serve as open
space for visitors’ enjoyment, but also lower the temperature of
air entering the property which reduces the energy consumption
of the chiller system. Solar lamps and Solar mosquito- repelling
lamps are extensively adopted at Podium Garden.
Refined Green Management Practiceses
• ‘Waste Collection Redemption Programme’ motivates tenants
to submit recyclables with Green Gift, and so at the same time
facilitates green purchasing.
• ‘Old for New Scheme’ is designed to cheer new tenants on taking
over premises in as-is status so that construction waste can be
substantially avoided.
