In the years since the launch of this biennial Award, it has
been very encouraging to witness its growing recognition
in the industry, and the role it continues to play in raising
awareness of sustainability. I am very pleased to report that the
GBA 2016 received an overwhelming number of nominations,
which reflects the way in which green development is gaining
momentum and becoming a mainstream in the industry. A total
of 70 projects were selected as finalists, with 12 Grand Awards
and 21 Merit Awards bestowed on the most outstanding
projects and organisations. The standard of all nominated
projects has been recognised to be exceedingly high, and
perfectly echoed the GBA 2016 theme of “Driving for a Green
Lifestyle • Excellence in Sustainable Built Environment”. This
year, a new category of “Green Building Leadership” has also
been added to the Award to recognise the role of pioneering
organisations which have made a leading contribution to the
sustainable built environment of our city.
To reflect the Award’s status as a renowned industry event
that draws an enthusiastic response from a wide range of
stakeholders, the GBA 2016 Jury Panel was formed from
a broad base of academic and industry expertise. It has
benefitted from the generous support of three overseas experts
as well as 27 local representatives from the Government,
Universities, and Professional Institutions. I have to particularly
express my gratitude to Mr Paul CHAN Mo-po, GBS, MH,
JP, Secretary for Development, who is both the Guest-of-
Honour at the GBA 2016 Dinner and the Honorary Advisor of
the Jury Panel. I also have to thank all members of the Jury
Panel for their valuable time and commitment contributed to
reviewing the GBA 2016 finalists. Thanks likewise go to all
GBA 2016 sponsors for their generous financial support, and
to our Supporting Organisations for their endorsement of this
important event. In addition, I would offer my thanks also to
the members of the GBA 2016 Scientific Committee, who have
played a key role in advising on technical issues. Most of all,
I would like to congratulate the GBA 2016 award winners.
They have been helping to lead Hong Kong into a new era of
greener and more sustainable environment for the benefit of
everyone of us.

自從環保建築大獎成立以來，日漸獲得業界認同，並且在提
高可持續發展的意識上能夠扮演一定的角色，我感到十分鼓
舞。我很高興告訴大家，環保建築大獎 2016 收到十分踴躍
的提名，反映了綠色建築的發展，在業界中已成為主流趨勢。
今年共有 70 個入圍項目，而當中有 12 個項目和機構獲頒發
大獎及 21 個獲頒發優異獎。所有提名項目都極具水準，充
分響應了環保建築大獎 2016 的主題 –「持續發展．盡顯卓
越．融入生活」。今年大會更設立了「綠建領導」這個新類
別，以表揚對可持續建築發展具有非凡貢獻的香港機構。
環保建築大獎2016的評審團雲集了不同範疇的學者及業界專
家。是次獎項獲得3位海外專家及27位包括本地政府、大學
以及專業機構代表的大力支持，反映各界積極參與本獎項，
同時也顯示了此獎項廣受業界認同。我特此鳴謝發展局局長
陳茂波先生，GBS，MH，JP擔任本獎項的主禮嘉賓及評審
團榮譽顧問。此外，我衷心多謝所有評審團成員抽出寶貴時
間評閱入圍項目，也要感謝環保建築大獎2016的所有贊助單
位的慷慨贊助，以及各支持機構協助宣傳本獎項。另外我還
要感謝環保建築大獎2016學術委員會對專業問題所提供的寶
貴意見。最後，我衷心祝賀環保建築大獎2016的獲獎者，他
們為引領香港進入環保和可持續環境新紀元作出的努力，將
惠及我們每一位香港人。
